EUGENIO B. REYES, MD
Director, Philippine Heart Association

Dr. Eugenio B. Reyes is a Clinical Associate Professor of the Department of Medicine, University of the Philippines College of Medicine, Manila, Philippines, and a consultant for the University's Cardiovascular Research Unit. He is currently the Head of the Section of Central Electrocardiography and the Program Coordinator of the Comprehensive Cardiac Rehabilitation and Preventive Cardiology of the Philippine General Hospital. Dr. Reyes earned his medical degree from the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila-College of Medicine and trained in internal medicine and adult cardiology at the Philippine General Hospital, and in cardiac rehabilitation and preventive cardiology at The Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine of the New York University Medical Center.


SATURNINO P. JAVIER, MD
Treasurer, Philippine Heart Association

Dr. Saturnino P. Javier chairs the Philippine Heart Association Committee on Legislative Affairs, and is the head of the Scientific Committee of the PHA 41st Annual Convention (to be held May 26 to 28, 2010). He is also an Interventional Cardiologist at the Makati Medical Center and Asian Hospital and Medical Center.


MARIA ADELAIDA IBOLEON-DY, MD, FPCP, FPCC
Chairman, Council on Cardiovascular Anesthesia and Critical Care, Philippine Heart Association

Dr. Maria Adelaida Iboleon-Dy was an international scholar at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio, where she took up Cardiology and Vascular Medicine. Her research on "Sexual Behavior of Coronary Patients" won the Young Investigator's Award of the Philippine Heart Association, and she presented the paper at the 6th World Congress of Cardiac Rehabilitation in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Currently, Dr. Iboleon-Dy heads the Advanced Cardiac Life Support Committee (ACLS) and the Coronary Care Unit of St. Luke's Medical Center, among other significant positions held.


ANDRČ S. KAHN
Vice President for External Affairs, Philippine Heart Association

Mr. Andre S. Kahn has primarily forged his reputation in the fields of Mass Media and Advertising. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from De La Salle University in 1971, and further enriched his knowledge in Advertising Code For Asia and Management for Medium Sized Radio Networks from the ASEAN Institute of Broadcast Development. He took a Sales and Management Workshop for East Asia and Latin America from the United States Information Agency Bureau of Broadcasting in Washington, USA. He became the Chairman of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) in 1985. Mr. Andr? S. Kahn is currently the Director of the Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies of the Philippines, and Chairman of the Advertising Board of the Philippines. He is also the President of J. Romero and Associates, Inc., one of the country's leading advertising firms.


MARIA TERESA B. ABOLA, MD
President, Philippine Heart Association

Dr. Maria Theresa Abola earned her medical degree at the University of the Philippines, and trained in Internal Medicine at the Philippine General Hospital; Adult Cardiology and Peripheral Vascular Diseases at the Philippine Heart Center; and Vascular Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. She has held the following positions: Head of Section of Vascular Medicine, Division of Clinical Cardiology at the Philippine Heart Center; Consultant of Section of Cardiology in the Department of Internal Medicine and Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of the Philippines - Philippine General Hospital. In addition, she has also contributed to various medical publications.


HON. DR. ESPERANZA I. CABRAL, MD
Secretary, Department of Health

Dr. Esperanza I. Cabral earned her medical degree at the University of the Philippines and completed her training in Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Clinical Pharmacology at the Philippine General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital, and the Joslin Clinic in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. She has held key positions in the top medical institutions in the country, and taught as a professor at the UP College of Medicine Departments of Medicine and Pharmacology. Aside from having been Director of the Philippine Heart Center, her work experience in government includes consulting for the Dangerous Drugs Board, the Bureau of Food and Drugs and the Department of Health.
